Asia Su’s identity is one shared with Daly City. A Chinese immigrant, Asia moved to the Bay Area while she was in high school and has called Daly City home for nearly 20 years. She chose Daly City as the place to start and raise her family, sharing in the future of our community. As a small-business owner, Asia understands the responsibility that comes with having people depend on her decisions. Asia knows how to listen, solve problems, make decisions, and take responsibility for the results. A Life Built in Daly City

As a small-business owner, Asia understands that decisions have consequences for more than the person making them. Employees depend on her judgment, customers depend on her service, and the people she works with depend on her to follow through.

A New Voice for Daly City

Daly City has never, in its history, elected a City Council Member of Chinese descent. Asia is the only candidate of Chinese descent in this race, even as Chinese voters are Daly City’s third-largest ethnic voting population and approximately half of Daly City’s registered voters are immigrants.

Asia believes her candidacy can encourage greater participation by Chinese residents and others who have not traditionally been involved in local government. Representation is part of why she is running, but her experience, judgment, and leadership are why she is prepared to serve.

Asia believes public service begins with listening to the people you represent and accepting responsibility for the decisions you make. Residents should be able to know their Councilmembers, communicate with them, and trust that their concerns will be taken seriously.
